President Barack Obama speaks on the Trayvon Martin case
The Trayvon Martin tragedy has rapidly captured the nation’s attention, so it was only a matter of time before President Obama addressed it. Today, during the announcement of his nominee for president of the World Bank in the Rose Garden, he was asked the off-topic question regarding the 17 year old’s death. He said:
“I think every parent in America should be able to understand why it is absolutely imperative that we investigate every aspect of this. All of us have to do some soul searching to figure out how does something like this happen.”
He had the most impact when comparing Trayvon to his own kids.
“You know, if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”
See below for Young Jeezy and Big Sean’s reaction to the Trayvon Martin case.
Obama isn’t the only leader who can relate to this tragedy. When Big Sean was asked by Sway about his thoughts on Trayvon – he related it to a new, never-before-heard song off his next untitled album. He even exclusively spit a few bars for Sway. Peep that HERE.
And HERE‘s what Young Jeezy said about the Trayvon case.
